Gildan Stands by Escabags in Campaign Against Domestic Abuse

Giving back to the community is one of Gildan’s core values, and we actively uphold it in various ways, particularly through volunteerism. This enables us to engage directly and meaningfully with vital community work. As we rounded off 2023, we felt immensely proud to spend a day at Escabags, an impactful charity committed to fight against domestic abuse.
Escabags plays a crucial role in assisting all victims of domestic abuse in taking their first step towards freedom. How? By providing free ‘escape bags’ holding essential items for individuals seeking to extricate themselves from vulnerable and dangerous situations.
During our time with Escabags, we contributed by crafting ‘escape bags’ and delving deeper into their initiative. It was an honour to support their mission, which aims to alleviate the immediate trauma of domestic abuse. They achieve this by providing free and efficient access to ‘escape bags’ within communities, alongside connecting victims with resources and agencies to continue their journey towards survivorship.

As the saying goes: "Helping one person might not change the world... but it could change the world for that one person." Inspired by this sentiment, we aimed to do more. Following our recent volunteer day at Escabags, we further supported their cause by providing T-shirts for their Awareness Day.
