Block Party and the Gildan 65000 Tee Launch: The Game-Changer

This year was truly remarkable, and among our many achievements, the launch of our Gildan Softstyle 65000 Midweight T-shirt deserves a highlight. Why? Because it combines the softness of the 64000 and the weight of the 5000 in one bold package. Constructed with 100% ring-spun cotton with a weight of 183 g/m², the 65000 tee is perfect for more substantial prints. This addition proved to be a game-changer, filling the gap and sparking a revolution in our customers' wardrobes and inventory. What’s more, its buzz escalated through a social media giveaway and an unforgettable party held in June (Block Party).

The 'Game-Changer Giveaway' offered 20 Gildan tees with striking designs created by the talented artist Tim Travers. Showcasing the 65000's specs on the back and featuring a subtle yet impactful pocket print flawlessly handled by T-1 Print, these tees were a masterpiece. So much so that they provoked an overwhelming response, with hundreds of people eager to get their hands on them.
Two months later, the Gildan 65000 t-shirt once again stole the spotlight at Rocks Brewery Co. in Alexandria, the stage for the Block Party. A vibrant display presented these Gildan tees in a wide range of colours and sizes, each embodying a modern-classic fit tailored from 100% ring-spun cotton, weighing 183 g/m². This occasion was also the debut of our custom display rack, adorned with fences, neon signs, and tees boasting stunning designs. As Dave Hillen, the general manager-director of Australia, Indonesia, and India, expressed: “To give a little taste of the new direction for Gildan Brands”.

Laughter, music, and engaging conversations filled the evening with vibrancy. The live screen printing on the Gildan 65000 tee sustained the energy, captivating both newbie and seasoned vet. Besides, Tim Travers' impressive artwork and the expertly crafted merch by Your Stuff Made added an extra special touch to the event.
Over 100 VIP customers graced us with their presence, showing support for Gildan Brands and celebrating the launch while mingling to the sounds of funk, R&B, and pop. As a highlight, we hosted a guessing contest—guests tried to estimate the number of tees stuffed into a jar, with the chance to win a $500 voucher.
It was an incredible night of dancing, fun, and pure enjoyment. A huge shoutout to everyone who made the event shine!
